George was the sole pride of his venerable fathers life, his motherdying when he was in his early teens. The seriousness of his purpose,his generous spirit of friendship, and the purity of his life are prominenttraits that his numerous friends will always remember. Only his father, Mr. G. P. McDonald, of Collins, Mississippi, sur-vives him, but with this father the A. and M. College and his numerousfriends are left to mourn the loss of this noble young man. [51]. HOMER DANIEL McDONALD Homer Daniel McDonald was theson of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel C. McDonald,of Moscow, Mississippi. He was bornnear Moscow, October 2S, 1889. He diedfrom broncho-pneumonia while in theAmerican Hospital at Neufchateau,France, September 9, 1918. Mac, as he was familiarly calledby his friends, received his elementaryeducation in the public schools of September, 1907, he entered theMississippi A. and M. College. Duringthe second term of his stay at A. and had a spell of measles which affectedhis eyes to such an extent that he was forced to withdraw and drop hisstudies altogether. Returning to his home in Moscow, he was employedas a clerk in a general merchandise store. This position he held untilDecember 10, 1917, when he enlisted in the army. After a shortperiod of training on this side, Mac was promoted to Sergeant andassigned to the Seve
