Phalanx Close-In Weapon System
171026-N-AZ808-2060 PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 26, 2017) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) fires its Phalanx Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) during a live-fire exercise. Halsey is currently deployed with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, conducting maritime security, forward presence and theater security operations in the 7th Fleet area of operations.
