Mandarin drake (Aix galericulata). Established, introduced species in England. An endangered species found in China Japan Korea.

Traditionally pairs of Mandarin Ducks were given to couples on their wedding day, symbolizing happiness and a life long of faithfulness to one another. This replicates the knowledge that Mandarins make permanent pair bonds - unusual or even rare behaviour amongst most species of ducks.
