Theexposure incident to a soldiers life laid the foundation of illhealth and was the cause ultimately of his death. In 1866 heentered the University of INIichigan and was a classmate of Robinson, Geo. B. Lake and T. J. Seely and between these foura friendship was then formed which truly existed unto Robinson, Lake and Seely were graduated in 1869, butMr. Burr not until 1871, as he was obliged to break in upon hisstudies in order to earn the necessary means to complete his col-legiate course.
