The site for the convent,lots 9 and 10, Block 39, were purchasedat a cost of one thousand two hundreddollars from Henry J. Derouin, on Feb-ruarv 28, 1888.—Sister M. Pacifica suc-ceeded Sister M. A. Ligouri as superior- 368 HISTORY OF THE DIOCESE OF ess in 1903 and in 1905 was herself suc-ceeded by Sister M. Viola. The school so well merited for the edu-cation of youth is conducted on a tuitionplan and it embraces besides the kinder-garten and the ordinary eight grammargrades a well regulated high schoolcourse.
