Not for use in Television Not for use in Television Shingles rash. Vesicles and rash due to a shingles outbreak on a woman's abdomen. The brown patch is a cafe au lait lesion. Also known as herpes zoster, shingles is the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus which lies dormant in the nerves after causing chicken pox. A shingles rash is limited to the area of skin supplied by the nerve in which the virus lay dormant. Photographed in India.
