The station was opened in 1876 for freight traffic and 1881 for passenger traffic. The Swedish National Railways and Bergslagerna's railways built the 1877 station house for the association station. It was demolished in 1929 and was replaced by a new, right next to the older. The Olskroken was reduced in 1980 for passenger traffic and now there are no visible remnants of the station.
