Southsea, Hampshire Friday 4th September 2015. We’ve all seen the horrifying, haunting images borne of the ongoing refugee crisis. Now there’s a chance for all of us in Portsmouth and Southsea to contribute aid and relief to these fleeing danger, oppression, and persecution. A group of locals — Yaz Atia, Joe Costello, Matt Sinden, Thee Andrew Morris — are taking trucks filled with supplies over to Calais to give them to the people who need it the most. Though this is short notice, it’s most definitely achievable, and also incredibly important: take whatever supplies you can to Al’Burrito on Albert Road tomorrow. They’ll be leaving with the jeep early Saturday morning. Take along tinned foods, water, blankets, clothing, pots and pans, first aid kits, sanitary products, nappies, shoes, sleeping bags, tents, and anything else you think may help. These supplies will go to the people who have been forced to live on the very edge of life by the critical states of their home countries. ©UKNIP / Alamy Live News
