ARABIAN GULF (Nov. 23, 2017) Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Richard V. Spencer (center), and his wife, Sarah Pauline Spencer, meet with crewmembers of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Hopper (DDG 70) on the ship’s mess decks during the SECNAV’s visit to the ship on Thanksgiving Day. Hopper is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
