This is the Maquette or miniature of the real work which stands high above the Lady Chapel in the Cathedral. This maquette is in wood and allows visitors to study the detail of the work at close quarters. The simple throne has an arch above which symbolises the rainbow. Christ is shown in his funeral shrouds blown by the vortex of the Heavens. The wounds of the cross are visible on the statue.
