1951 advertisement for Cussons Imperial Leather soap

1951 advertisement for Cussons Imperial Leather soap. The advert promoting the company appeared in the official guide to the South Bank Exhibition, Festival of Britain, 1951. This illustration featured black or Afro Caribbean characters that would today possibly be considered to have racist overtones or at least be in dubious taste. The festival also marked the centenary of The Great Exhibition of 1851, Hyde Park, London - a vintage nineteen fifties item for editorial use only.
