The Germans have utilized more fully than have the English theadvantages to be gained by young people from residence in the moun-tains. Amongst the sanatoria that they have established in Davos isa school-sanatorium for boys,1 where delicate lads can get a iirst-classeducation, and at the same time benefit by the invigorating air. It isa pity that there is as yet no such institution for English boys. Inthis respect St. Moritz is more fortunate in having a small but goodschool for English lads-. FIG. Ib.—DAVOS IX WINTER. Alpine Health Stations. Of the high Alpine resorts, Davos, St. Moritz, and Arosa are thebest known and the most completely equipped. Other high stationsare Leysin (4,757 feet above sea-level), Chateau dOex (3,261 feet),Grindelwald (3,468 feet), Les Avants (3,232 feet), Caux (3,690 feet),Montana (4,960 feet), and Adelboden (4,450 feet). At Zuoz (5,660 feet),in the Upper Engadine, there is an international school.
