Twenty-nine-hour Larva.—Normal (Fig. 4^4). The larva is begin- ning to assume the appearance of the fully-developed trochophore. The membrane is closely applied to the surface of tin- larva. The apical tuft has disappeared, and only the non-motile cilia remain at the anterior end. The prototroch is raised slightly, forming the so- called "hood fold" i Wilson, 1(J29). The single posterior cilium per- sists. The small yellow chromatophores are taking on a green tinge. The stiff dorsal cilia are longer and more numerous than in 1 he previous.
