According the Primary Chronicle Izbosk prince Truvor was a brother of mythological Varangian prince Rurik, the first ruler of Russian tribes and the founder of the Russian State. Truvor's Site (Gorodische) is the place where the town of Izborsk located in the Truvor's age. The church of St Nicolas on the Gorodische is in the background.
