EAST CHINA SEA (Feb. 5, 2019) An MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 262 (Reinforced) with the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepares to land on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) during a visit between and Japanese military officials to observe operations at sea. Wasp, flagship of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st MEU, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
