In poli-tics he is a Republican, but his practice hasprecluded any thought of his entering the publicarena as a candidate for public office. Fraternally,he is connected with the Masons, and has risen to thefourteenth degree. On August 19, 1908, Mr. Scatterday was marriedat Pontiac, Illinois, to Miss Helen M. ScouUer,daughter of Dr. J. D. and Mrs. Scouller, who stillreside at Pontiac. This union has been blessed withone child: George Hays
