170715-N-RU971-1199 SHOALWATER BAY (July 15, 2017) Landing craft air cushions (LCAC), assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, approach the well deck of amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) in support of a large-scale amphibious assault during Talisman Saber 17. The landing craft launched from Bonhomme Richard enabled movement of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) forces and equipment ashore in order for the MEU to complete mission objectives in tandem with Australia counterparts.
