Here would be the place to mention an exercise which weconsider in a way equivalent to a very effective massagemanipulation, i. e., the rhythmical contraction and relaxationof the quadriceps muscle. The contraction is done whilethe knee is in a straight position, in order that no part of theleg is moved except the knee cap, which is pulled tight.
