13th February 2020. Altmarkt, Dresden, Saxony, Germany. On the 75th anniversary of the Dresden bombings the far-right political party Alternative for Germany (AfD), have set up an “information” booth handing out leaflets in the Altmarkt, in the centre of the historic city. The AfD claim that the number of deaths caused by the Dresden bombing have been vastly underestimated and regularly play down Nazi crimes. In 2019 the Dresden City Council officially declared a ‘Nazi emergency’ amid fears over the rise of far-Right groups in the eastern German city.
