Storm Callum, October 2018. Satellite image of Storm Callum (upper left) centred over the North Atlantic Ocean west of Scotland. This storm made landfall in Ireland, Wales and Northern England, causing destruction, flooding and several deaths. This storm was part of the 2018-19 European windstorm season. Image data obtained on 12 October 2018 at 13:14 UTC, by the VIIRS (Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) sensor on the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi NPP) weather satellite.
