The skin is a beautiful silvery white; the flesh is snowy white and of a particularly mild and pleasant flavor. So sweet and tender is the flesh that it can be eaten raw, like an apple. The Silver King matures ^ early and is uniformly of large size and perfect -jr form. It cannot be too highly recommended, either ( \AAkj for family use, for exhibition at fairs or in restauranis, or for sale on market during fall and early winter, where its size and beauty prove very striking.
