Oneither side of the cross standthe spear and sponge bearers, invery vigorous attitudes, with theirbacks turned towards the spectators,whilst at the sides, on raised eleva-tions, stand the Virgin, in well-expressed attitude of grief, and At the top, in the angles,are represented the sun and moon,under the forms of the busts of Soland Luna, with the crescent in theclouds.
