The bas-reliefs at Angkor Wat, Angkor, Siem Reap, Cambodia. The bas-reliefs cover the back wall of the gallery of the third enclosure for two metres in high and a total area of more than 1000 square metres. Cut directly into the surface of the wall and having suffered minimal decay, they are more graphic than sculptural. Angkor Wat was first a Hindu later a Buddhist temple complex. It was built in the first half of 12th century.
