This limited edition of 50,000 units, 1983, for the Speaking In Tongues LP which sold over 1,000,000 units in America. Talking Heads were all from art school backgrounds and saw record sleeves as a further expression of their artistic ideas. For their fifth studio album, singer David Byrne approached pop artist Robert Rauschenberg. The result was one of the most inventive vinyl packages ever. It comprised three 12" circular transparent plastic discs, each printed with elements of a collage design. The idea was related to an earlier 1967 Rauschenberg work, Revolver
