Talia Cohen, singer with Moth Trap, performing on the NTS Heavenly Stage at the OnBlackheath Music Festival 2016

Born-and-raised in Hackney, East London, Moth Trap locked themselves in a moth-ridden basement for two years to emerge with an original and radical sound. Talia, who fronts the band, has a plethora of tones: softness and powerful vocals which effortlessly cut through the guitars, a sound that can only be described as a Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin fusion.  The band is underpinned by Jimmy’s extraordinary drumming ranges from off-beat jazz rhythms to intricate half-time beats. With Bernie and Frankie demonstrating their musical credentials through mesmerising guitar and synth sounds.  Their style has been compared to ESG &Fleetwood Mac but undoubtedly has a psychedelic and electronic edge that defines the band.
