Light micrograph of low-grade papillary urothelial carcinoma (also known as transitional cell carcinoma). The tumor is composed of numerous papillary fronds that show branching and fusion as well as variability in architecture. There is cellular overcrowding with increased nuclear density. cytologic atypia (cell abnormality) is minimal. Occasional mitotic figures are present but infrequent.
