Ischaemia. Digital angiogram of a 40-year-old patient's left hand, showing ischaemia (lack of blood flow) in the index finger. There are fewer blood vessels visible in the index (2nd) finger compared to normal, due to the presence of thrombosis (blood clotting) of the proximal part of the ulnar artery (upper centre). There is also an occlusion of the interosseous artery between the 2nd and 3rd metacarpals (hand bones, centre right); the distal collateral arteries of the index finger are also occluded.
