Royal Mail "Atlantis"

The Royal Mail Lines' SS ATLANTIS was a well known dedicated cruise ship of the 1930s operating primarily UK-based cruises. A brochure was produced to advertise a series of cruises lasting from 16 to 24 days. Percy Padden (1885-1965) created several of the gorgeous images used for the catalogs and display-size posters. This example is from the RML's Nordic/Baltic "Sunshine Cruises." An idyllic fjordscape conjures up the feel of cool, crisp air and soft sunlight
