This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Martian canyons. Mars Express perspective view of collapsed canyon-like structures on Mars, part of a system called Coprates Catena. This area is next to the main valley of Coprates Chasma (not seen), part of the Valles Marineris canyon system on the Martian equator. These collapsed structures vary in depth from 2500 and 3000 metres. The area in the image is about 70 kilometres across. North is at left. Data from the High Resolution Stereo Camera. Mars Express has been orbiting Mars since December 2003.
