The pay of the stokerclass is very much on a par with that of themilitary branch, stokers entering at £30, 8s. 4d.,rising to £38, Os. 5d., when rated first class, and,as leading stoker, receiving as much as £45,12s. 6d.,rising in the case of stoker petty officer of the first A SUBMARINE RUNNING AWASH •.
