An Illyrian helmet with gold trim, 6th - 5th century BC. Bronze with high quality greenish patina with reddish speckles. Skull with two helmet crest offset by two ridges, fastening holes on the front end. Narrow rectangular face cutout framed with gold foil. There are two additional pieces of gold foil, shaped like crescent moons on the sides of the forehead. There are remnants of the bitumen used as an ancient glue under the gold foil.
