How few of the collectors of seaweeds troublethemselves with the obscure vegetation of salt-water mud-bottomed pools near the shore:—yet such situations, whenattentively examined, arc found to be rich in microscopicforms, and in species of this curious family. I have no doubt but that the present species, which appears to be not uncommonin Northern Europe, may yet be found in many other habitatsthan the one recorded above. Fig. 1.
