Vineyards run right up to the base of the Alpilles, here the plateau of La Caume. Fifteen miles long and as much as 1270 feet high, the Les Alpilles mountain chain runs between the Durance and Rhone rivers in Provence, southern France. This view is from the D5, immediately south of Glanum, en route to Les Baux.
