Sheerness Dockyard Church Trust (chairman Will Palin son of Michael Palin) has appointed Hugh Broughton Architects to work on the restoration, which aims to transform the Grade II* listed building at the entrance to the former Royal Dockyard on the Isle of Sheppey, badly damaged by fire in 2001. This is a groundbreaking £ Heritage Lottery Fund project (additional funding from Historic England).
