Borkum beach promenade


Borkum ist die westlichste und mit knapp 31 Quadratkilometern die größte der sieben bewohnten Ostfriesischen Inseln. Teile der Insel und das angrenzende Watt gehören zum Nationalpark Niedersächsisches Wattenmeer. Die Insel bildet auch die Fläche der Stadt Borkum, die als staatlich anerkanntes Nordseeheilbad über zahlreiche Kureinrichtungen verfügt. Borkum is the westernmost and with almost 31 square kilometers the largest of the seven inhabited East Frisian islands. Parts of the island and the adjacent watts belong to the National Park Lower Saxony Wattenmeer. The island is also the surface of the town of Borkum, which is a state-approved North Sea thermal baths with numerous spa facilities.
