Museo de Arte Indigeno in Sucre, Bolivia

Sucre is the most beautiful city of Bolivia, situated at 2790metres above sea level on the eastern edge of the Altiplano. It was the centre of colonial Spanish power and was made the capital after independence, a status it still retains. It has a wealth of colonial architecture and one of the oldest universities in Latin America. The Museo de Arte Indigena is based in a Spanish colonial house. It concentrates on textiles and weavings of two Indian groups, the Jalq’a and Tarabucenos who live in the Altiplano around Sucre
