It shows a ravine on the north hillside, where six companies of the 308th Infantry were isolated and surrounded by Germans for six days. However, they successfully held their position until relieved. The location is near Bois de la Buironne at the foot of Mont de Charlevaux, 2 km northeast of Binarville, Meuse, France.
