In dropsical affections, and in rheu-matic and scrofulous complaints the supertartrate of potassa is auseful addition, by which the action of both is reciprocally is employed as a vermifuge in tea spoonful doses, and repealed. Some Physicians and Practitioners recommend the powdered rootas an escharotic to cleanse foul and ill-conditioned ulcers and disposethem to heal and to promote the exfoliation or removal of cariousor rotten bones. The powder should be sprinkled on the affectedpart once in from two to five days. It is also said to destroy proudflesh without any injury to the sound N? 50. Mezereon.
