The National Museum of Ravenna (Museo Nazionale di Ravenna) is situated in the cloisters of the former Benedictine Monastery, in the monumental complex of San Vitale. The museum contains some important collections of minor arts, such as some funeral steles and epigraphs, various archaeological fragments, a collection of textiles (from Coptic to Renaissance period), an important collection of ivory pieces, a rich collection of icons, a coin and medal section and a fascinating collection of ancient weapons.
