Nomadic tents between Tamar and Ashkhaneh (Golestan and Khorasan provinces, Iran). Climate change threatens the lives of nomads in Iran due to droughts. In a brutal eight-year war against Saddam Hussein's Iraq, a border rich in biodiversity was devastated and rangers fled. After this, urbanization increased aggressively. Various dams were built on almost all rivers. Thousands of kilometers of roads were created in the middle of nowhere, traversing almost every habitat. The country's waterways are disappearing, in part, because neither conservationists nor activists dare to express concern about the environment for fear of retribution. The result is an increasingly arid country with difficulty finding grazing areas.
