London, January 31st 2015. Hundreds march from South and East London to City Hall to demand better homes for Londoners and an end to the housing crisis, better tratment and conditions for the homeless and a stop to the selling off of quality council homes to property developers who then price Londoners out of the market.

Thousands participated in two marches for housing, one starting in Shoreditch, the other in Elephant and Castle, converging at City Hall for a rally. The protest comes as key workers and those on low incomes are being squeezed out of London's housing market, with property developers redeveloping existing council estates and selling them on to wealthy investors, many of whom are foreign. Affordable housing is no longer possible to find in London, with some people now paying rent for shared bedrooms.
