45 Park Pl in New York proposed location of Ground Zero Mosque
The 152 year old former Burlington Coat Factory building at 45 Park Place in Lower Manhattan in New York on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. The NYC Landmarks Commission voted unanimously not to grant landmark status to the building enabling the developers to overcome the last government hurdle to demolishing the the site and building the proposed mosque and Islamic community center. The site is two blocks from Ground Zero and is opposed by many who don't want a mosque so close to the World Trade Center terrorist attack. (© Richard B. Levine)
