Grey sky view, to glass skyscrapers, people looking segments Berlin Wall, in front Bahnhof Potsdamer Platz, Eberstrasse, Berlin
'4th generation' Berlin Wall segments on the pavement in front of the railway station at Potsdamer This final version of the Berlin Wall, introduced in the late 1970s, was composed of pre-fabricated reinforced concrete segments in the form of an inverted 'T' and capped with a cyclindrical top (missing here). The whitewashed wall, a monument to the narrow-mindedness of its builders, has been a magnet for graffiti artists. Information signs, outlining the history of the wall, are positioned between the segments. A man in military uniform stands at a kiosk stamping tourist passports with an original DDR/East Berlin visa.
