Street scene, Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton, 1910s. Advertising Clark's Carriage and Motor Works, agents Sunbeam, Minerva, Humber

Street scene, Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton, 1910s. Once an important suburb on the main route from Wolverhampton to Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, and Holyhead, much of this housing has now been demolished. Advertising proclaims Clark's Carriage and Motor Works, agents for Sunbeam, Minerva, Humber and Rolls Royce, and an early sign for the Automobile Association (AA). The corner shop is John E Knight, Florists and this is next to the Needlecraft shop . Tram lines run up the main street and pony and traps can be seen coming up the street next to the tram.
