This means an average of one-third mure power overan entire division with the same fuel; three new enginesdoing the work of four earlier ones for the fuel of threeof the earlier ones. Three hundred of these engines arereal fuel efficiency factors. Operating popularity of No. 8000 and its immediate Fig. 3 lated four-wheel trailer truck of new design which isequipped with a booster nicitor. This articulated trailertruck provides also for ample air supply and large ashpancapacity, which promote economy of operation. The re-sult is very high horsepower output with great economyin boiler and cylinder performance which means large fuelsavings. This locomotive entered trial service February 20, 1925,as Boston and Albany No. 1. The operating resultsaimed for were as follows:
