Cadet Richard C. Dow and presents his newly awarded Commandant’s Trophy with his father, Richard C. Dow senior, on Nov. 12, 2016, during halftime of the Citadel versus Virginia Military Institute football game. Dow is the second VMI student to receive the award and one of only 15 to be recognized across the nation since 2013. The award distinguishes Dow’s achievements and superior performance while at the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School located in Quantico, Virginia.
