Picture by Roger Bamber: 19 September 2006 Dancer Sarah Alexander and other performers rehearse their Bicycle Ballet which will be performed as part of Car Free Day on Friday 22 September. Bicycle Ballet is commissioned by the Arts Council and will be performed on the seafront at Brighton with 100 bicycles and a cast drawn partly from the local cycling community. The ballet is described as a spectacular show reminiscent of Busby Berkeley but tempered by the reality of urban cycling such as manoeuvering through traffic and having to lock up or loose your precious steed.
