Lowest conductivity values were found in the shallow wells with their screened intervals within the catotelm (well decomposed organic matter, muck). Highest conductivity values were found in the deep wells with their screened intervals within both the catotelm and the underlying gravel. Auger holes which have their open intervals within the acrotelm (undecomposed organic matter) had conductivities intermediate in comparison to the wells (Table 48.
