British and German officers negociating the truce and handover of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Unlike the murderously frenzied defence and liquidation of others camps, Bergen_Belsen was handed over during a negoaciated truce. Even though there were no gas chambers at Bergen-Belsen, an estimated 50,000 people died there, almost all from disease and neglect in the last few months of the war.
