Of the newer sorts the following are the most promising: Oriole, Ideal, Plow City, Bouncer, Sparta, Win. Belt, Satisfaction, Bismarck, !kina Kennedy. Michigan, Bivndy wine, and Tennessee Prolific. ANNIE LAURIE—Matthew Crawford says of this berry: 4-Perhaps the most desirable amateur berry, all things considered, that I have ever fruited. It has created a sensation wherever shown on account of its size, beauty of form and color, and delicious ; Plant a stout vigorous grower and a good bearer. ANNA KENNEDY—Said to be a most beautiful berry; medium to large; as regular in form as if mouldf d; quality excellent; a strong grower and a good bearer. V BEECHER—This is a very large irregular shaped beiry; a strong grower. Early. BOUNCER—A new berry which Mr. Hale regarded with so much favor that he paid $50 in gold for a name for it. Very large, somewhat irregular, deep red in color, fine flavor, strong grower and good bearer. Rather late in ripening. Tjw it. BELLE—Fairly good, medium early. BISMARCK—A seedling of Bubach. A stout vigorous grower on my grounds; fruit obtuse, conical and very heavy; color bright scarlet with no green tips, firm, fine flavor and proli- fic; season late; a better grower, and equally as prolific, with a perfect blos- som. A decided acquisition. BISEL—Productive of medium to large berries in midseason. BERLIN—* much stronger grower than Bubach. Berry large, good shape and a few days later than Bubach. Still it is not to my liking. ENORMOUS—This is, as its name in- dicates, an immense, rather late berry, wedge-shaped in form, light color. The originator of Bubach says
